A charming escape in the countryside
My stay at Villa Du Châtelet was a delightful experience with the majestic gardens and warm hospitality of Alix, who made every moment enjoyable. Waking up to the sumptuous breakfast and exploring the surrounding forest trails was a highlight of my trip. The nearby Armistice Glade & museum offered an enriching historical experience, and cycling into Compiegne was both scenic and easy. I truly felt at home during my visit.
While everything was exceptional, the villa does not have a full-service dining option, which may be a consideration for those looking for on-site meals. the nearby restaurants recommended by Alix did not disappoint.

where do I start with this so-called villa? the breakfast was decent, but honestly, they picket the cheapest fresh produce available. not to mention, i was expecting a complimentary upgrade for my "exquisite taste," which i clearly did not receive. the dining room? let's just say it was a bit too quaint for my liking, i just couldn’t give a good review.

The homemade breakfast was top-notch, with all fresh produce that totally hit the spot. I also loved the serene setting with beautiful gardens and a charming, well-decorated room that felt both cozy and historic.
While the space was nice, the dining options were pretty limited, which might be a bummer for those who want more on-site food choices. Not to mention, the quaint dining room vibe might not suit everyone, and you have to look outside for a more robust meal.

The beautiful house surrounded by stunning gardens stole my heart, and the circular forest walk recommended by the host was a delightful surprise. Enjoying some time by the pool table and unwinding in the garden area provided the perfect relaxation. Just a heads up, there could be more dining options available, but it didn't take away from my lovely experience! 🌼
